I agree because we are not even close to 100% renewables and to be honest I think that target is aspirational using wind and solar and hydro in Australia.
South Australia may try to argue otherwise, but they have days where they don't achieve 100% - so they must be using good old coal/gas on those days.
IMO 100% most days (daylight hours) is possible given our abundance of solar energy and open spaces to setup solar but evenings and through out the night is another story, wind is unreliable, hydro can be drought affected that leaves coal/gas until we get a technology breakthrough with batteries and/or nuclear.
I would love for Nuclear fusion to become a thing but my gut feeling is not in my life time.
But in the meantime we need GAS and so do many other countries that are further behind in renewables.
