That's another reason why I'll be voting No, private equity firms are well known for stripping assets and making a quick profit. I would also add that at this time, when the US government and big US pharma are behaving aggressively towards Australian drug manufacturers and attacking our PBS and healthcare system, there is a strong case for the foreign investment review to say No to this takeover by a US private equity firm.
Once again a plea to all HC members, if you believe this a bad deal all round, think creatively about how this proposal can be defeated.
- Do you think you’ve had enough and want to sell? Maybe keep some and exercise your Vote.
- How can you turn your vote into 5? Do you have friends who own it, friends who want to buy?
- Contact your financial adviser or stockbroker.
- Contact your journalist friend.
- Do family members have shares?. Talk to them.
