Surely Abbott will not contest the next election. Is Australian politics, and particularly the opposition talent pool, in such a dire situation?
Actually, it's probably not all that bad because Turnbull is the most outstanding candidate for PM in the country if you ask me. However, the right will not warm to him. He's too radical for them.....lol. Crikey, when will they ever get relevant? Half of them are terrified at the thought of letting go of Lizzie's skirt etc.....lol....and Turnbull represents a threat to their ability to sleep at night without Lizzie watching over them.
Having said that, I really doubt that Gillard will make it to the next election. I think she is as dead in the water as Abbott is. Who will replace her? Rudd perhaps?....lol.
For different reasons to Abbott, she is out of her depth and not convincing PM material.
