I have a letter from the ACC specifically stating that "Price gouging" is not against the law in Australia.
Specifically:
"Price gouging is not against the law so, if they want to, businesses can set high profit margins."
So this is just another hollow promise from our politicians, just like the promised $275 price reduction.
At best they will slap on a fine to get more money for the bureaucracy and prices will go even higher as a result.
