Hillalong will be the cream of the cake..as stated in BGF report could be worth 12c-18c to the price of this stock. Rio know what they own at this site ..22km west. Hail Creek Mine is an open cut mine, using a dragline truck and shovel method. 436 employees (as at 31 December 2008) work in shifts to keep the mine operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The coal deposit is part of the Bowen Basin, a significant Permian coal basin stretching 600 km long and 250km wide. Coal is mined from two seams; the Elphinstone Seam, with an average thickness of 6.4 metres and the Hynds Seam, averaging 8.3 metres in thickness.
They had a resource of 167MT as at start of 2009.
