...it boggles my mind that low to middle income earners would vote for a party that has traditionally and always favoured the rich and wealthy.
..what good is a tax cut (favouring the rich) to an apprentice working in a farm which business is about to be obliterated by higher retaliatory tariffs and cuts in demand or one working in a butter producing factory that is impacted by reduced school purchases following the DOGE cuts?
..the Trump 2.0 administration wasn't thinking about these people, their actions could see them lose their jobs and face higher cost of living from higher tariffs, that tax cuts don't matter (when you have zero income).
What economists seem to forget is that working class Americans making $40k or less pay only nominal income taxes. So the tax cut coming later in the year can only have minimal benefit for those people even if it cuts their taxes to ZERO. However the tariff increase will have immediate and ONGOING impact on the lowest paid workers. In the end, the working class will be fully imploded by this economic strategy. https://x.com/SuburbanDrone/status/1906695338003435592
