BHP to spin off IO and Coal.
Well this is fun. Both divisions are high quality - coal has already been whittled down to superb high calorie low ash metallurgical. If the world was rational (!) these would be the last mines standing for making steel and cement, for which there is no known substitute process.
BHP would be Copper, Potash and not much else.
It would then have to power hard into Cu with further M&A and the prompt development of its US Cu projects.
Exciting times.
