I think we are holding up pretty well, given the global sell off, which in my view is only starting. Tariffs will have the same effect on economy as the closure during covid. Companies will be selling current inventories while trying to figure out supply chains. This will put a temporary halt to production globally resulting in job losses etc. Governments will have no other choice but to throw cash at everyone fanning future inflation.
What I think is going to very good for precious metals is the fork with Bitcoin. Bitcoin has been used by the US to divert demand and attention from Gold. Americans were trying to avoid gold appreciation by spruiking Bitcoin as a store of value and digital gold. But given American institutions now control large parts of it, including Michael Saylor's owning like 2.5% of supply, no other large government in the world would consider it as a reserve asset. Russians have put a dent in it as well by announcing they used it to avoid sanctions. Which means that the demand for it will reduce whether Trump lifts sanctions or Trump increases sanctions capturing bitcoin.
It will soon become clear that there is no alternative to Gold or a digital currency actually tied to gold holdings (not bitcoin).
Holding the lowcaps like AVM including long-expiry options is the best investment in the current market. They will appreciate simply because of destruction of monetary base.
