Excellent question, @albeast, nowhere near yet in my books, but that is not specific to Woodside.
Oil and gas are always on the frontline of any tariff war in history, in the 19th Century, 20th Century and now the 21st Century but everything will get smashed and tariff imposition has always ended in disaster, world wars, oil price shock and then oil related regional wars and of course caused the first Great Depression.
My personal view is that this is not the time to wade in and picking the bottom of it is always difficult.
The algos, bots, and sell-side brokers will have more weight than any carry trader even the multitude of buyside fund managers managing 401(k)s, pensions, superannuation and so on.
I'm waiting for a circuit breaker, I'm not selling anything anywhere across the world but I had achieved low carry in my portfolios on the NYSE, LSE, TSX, NZX, ASX anyway. I am looking for an opening on new stocks, not prepared to average down on anything, but nowhere near wading in just yet.
More FONGO than FOMO for a wee while. Look on the bright side at least I don't own a Tesla and have not been near an exploding Tesla (alth I saw one smashed here in Queens just the other day). So oil and gas aint going away altho the Teslas are probably in their last days.
