The current price of ultra HPQ(which Pippingara quarry has achieved) suitable for use in manufacture of semi conductors is $US700/t. With Spruce Pine mined HPQ now having to pay an extra 34% tariff, the Pippingara HPQ is now a good alternative. An offtake is looking more likely with firstly a 60kg sample sent to China, then a 1 tonne sample and now an 80 tonne sample.
