A new charge has been laid against the operator of the Ranger uranium mine in the Northern Territory.
Energy Resources of Australia (ASX: ERA.ax) faced the Darwin Magistrates Court today on two existing charges relating to an incident at the mine last year when workers allegedly drank or showered in contaminated water.
The new charge alleges the company failed to ensure machinery was properly cleaned before it left the mine site.
The Northern Territory Department of Resource Development says the charge carries a maximum penalty of $137,000.
