you are very naive.
100% they should be incentivized with significant equity potential. No doubt. But linking huge portions of it to just staying in the job is flawed. Whilst everyone is excited and hopeful at the moment, it sounds acceptable... but if he performs poorly over the next 12 mths you will be furious with what he gets given.
all i want is a link to outcomes that are likely to be price accretive. Time in the role is not always.
