Pisces, you are simply an investor who relies on share price validation.
You need the share price to move to feel the investment is validated. You cant make the distinction between business value and share price and believe that one affects the other.
I look at a company, what it is now. I then imagine how I would feel if the company was at half the SP and if the company was at double the SP.
I ONLY hold companies where
1. If the SP was halved I wouldnt be fearful, I would be on a buying frenzy
and
2. If the SP was doubled I might think about selling, but I would still believe the company to be slightly undervalued.
You seem to need the share price movement to vindicate your purchase and 'sure up' the the prospects of the business.
I, personally, need BUSINESS MILESTONES / plans / funding etc to sure up the business. The Share price is simply white noise to me(unless a cap raising is imminent).
The reason I do this is because I invest HARD into any one company. % of my portfolio that would make the rest of you cringe. I pick 3-6 companies that all have over 100% room to move on my back of envelope calculations AND have a growth strategy that is strong. You guys mitigate risk by investing in mulitiple stocks. I mitigate risk by investing in strong business with poor stock prices.
Each to their own.
