Yes of course it would be a knockout punch if China was working toward becoming THE superpower and totally demoralise and humiliate the US.
The obvious question is, why don't they just finish the US off via a mass dump of treasuries or a percentage thereof to prove they can do it (even though it is accepted they can).
Maybe, just maybe, the US and China are collaborating and reading from the same hymn sheet and singing in concert?
Don't discount a concerted effort to change the global financial system, sleight of hand, hand of fate?
