The programme shows the massive potential for gold mining in Scotland. According to the programme ?100m worth of gold has already been extracted from the mine in NI with another ?400-?500m to be extracted. This is only the gold reserves they have identified though - this may only be the tip of the iceberg as the geologists reckon there could be a lot more undiscovered.(the vein runs diagonally from Ireland across Scotland where Scotgold are currently working).
