So I see this as mostly good news
- Galan maintains a high quality asset, sticking to what they know - brines and ponds
- The risk seems to mostly be shifted onto Authium around lithium extraction. Galan just sells concentrate. What Authium then does with it seems to be their prerogative
- Off-take of 45kt over a 6-12 year term seems great, keeps it vague enough that if the price of lithium jumps enough, Galan can scale back and sell on market for premium
- Stage 1 is basically funded now
- Stage 2, potentially, could be funded with rolling capital if capex and opex stay as low as anticipated? Hard to say with current numbers, but perhaps there’ll be little further capital required
I’m no expert, but this seems like a decent strategy? Would love your opinions. To add the cherry on top, RIGI may be easier to obtain now
