I suggest that people wake up and smell the roses. This has naught to do with trade imbalances per se, and everything to with the US being down a massive debt hole.
Their interest bill is killing them, and Trump knows it and so too does Bessent. They have to roll-over the $9 trillion at low rates or otherwise their budget is thrown into chaos. We are watching the collapse of an empire in real time.
