So, the Lulo kimberlite field is showing similarities to Fort á la Corne-type Pyroclastic Kimberlites. I’ve always believed that the source to Lulo alluvial diamonds is nearby and that an economic pipe will be low grade/ high $ per carat, and this study hasn’t changed my view.
The distribution of diamonds throughout the Cacuilo River valley is widespread but not consistent. I don’t believe that there’s a relationship between MB grades and the proximity of source pipes, since there are many factors which caused the distribution of alluvial diamonds.
