Rubbish. I have a bank of 6, 2 volt gel batteries and 3x4 volt gels for STORAGE. Pure sine wave inverter for the 240 volt computer I'm typing on, and use low tariff, off-peak power at night to replenish my batteries (shhhh!).
Off the grid and just fine. Solar and wind here.
