You parrot the catholic narration of history, which is so easily proved from history without even using your non scriptural basis for this belief system.
Christianity came out of Judaism
Full stop no need to add this or that
Those that were in Judaism that accepted Christ as the messiah, were called christians, they were taught the foundations of christianity by christ himself who taught his disciples who then preached the gospel to the world.
NEWSFLASH ###@@!! Ppm
This was hundreds of years before the catholic church even existed!
Oh my God really, geez I didn’t know that Christianity came out of Judaism, silly comments like this and the like that “Sola Scriptura” promotes unity, along with your NEWSFLASH ###@@!! Ppm simply shows that your understanding is very low to say the least
Of course, even children know that Christianity came out of Judaism, I myself have a news flash for you, that there were Christian’s way before you, and also there were Christians who read the bible in the likes of Acts 11:26 way before you came about as well.
You will also see that the term "catholic" (from the Greek "katholikos," meaning "universal") was used by early Church Fathers to refer to the universal Church. One of the earliest recorded uses of the term in this context is by Ignatius of Antioch circa A.D. 110. In his Letter to the Smyrnaeans, he writes about the "Catholic Church," indicating the concept of a universal Church that encompasses all true believers.
And to boot you will find the Catholic Church has direct link to the time to Christ by it’s papacy, as You will find that the remains of St. Peter are housed in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, while the remains of St. Paul are located in the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls in Rome, Italy, followed by remains of those after St. Peter are located as follows: Pope Linus in St. Peter's Basilica, Pope Anacletus in St. Peter's Basilica, Pope Clement I in San Clemente Basilica, Pope Evaristus in St. Peter's Basilica, and Pope Alexander I in the Catacomb of Callixtus. Pope Sixtus I in the Catacomb of Callixtus, Pope Telesphorus in the Catacomb of Priscilla, Pope Hyginus in the Vatican Necropolis, Pope Pius I in St. Callixtus Catacombs, Pope Anicetus in the Catacomb of Callixtus, and Pope Soter in the Catacomb of St. Priscilla.
And to boot we have historical writings of the Catholic Church existence and the Papacy from the earliest of Christianity
Like I said it’s irrelevant of how you try to paint or dress yourself along with history, as History doesn’t agree with you, no matter how much you try
The early Church Fathers often referenced and appealed to the authority of the Popes and Bishops in Rome, establishing a clear line of succession and apostolic continuity. Here are some quotes from the early Church Fathers:
These quotes demonstrate that from an early stage in Christian history, there was a recognition of the authority and influence of the Popes and Bishops in Rome. The early Church Fathers appealed to this authority as a source of unity and guidance within Christendom,
St. Clement of Rome (c. 35-99 AD)
Letter to the Corinthians (c. 96 AD) In his letter, Clement writes about the succession of Bishops in Rome, emphasizing the authority of the Bishop of Rome:
"For it is thus that our most holy and blessed Apostles handed down their own sacred and divine teaching to those to whom they did preach the Gospel and who by the will of God became bishops of the churches. Through this succession, which is the strength of our own order, by a law ordained by God, the Bishops have received the succession of the Apostles." (CCC 64)
St. Ignatius of Antioch (c. 35-110 AD)
Letter to the Romans (c. 110 AD) Ignatius writes to the Roman Church as a symbol of unity within Christendom, appealing for unity under the leadership of the Bishop of Rome:
"In like manner also do I address you through this writing: that you all speak as with one voice, that there be no divisions among you. If any one is able to speak well, let him speak; if any one has knowledge, let him manifest it; but that which is spoken by any one may be subject to examination." (CCC 65)
St. Irenaeus of Lyons (c. 130-202 AD)
Against Heresies (Book III, Chapter 3) Irenaeus defends the authority of the Bishop of Rome and emphasizes the importance of the succession of Bishops:
"Since, therefore, it would have been impossible for those very men who were then conversant in the churches to err, it is necessary to find out what was preached by them, for whose sake, too, the churches have been placed in order. We have learned from them how the change from that dispensation to the present one which succeeds it, has been made...But Polycarp also was not only instructed by them, but had [also] seen [them]. For when he was a boy, he was used to see the apostles, and to be conversant with those who had seen the Lord; and he remembered their words; which the chain of succession has preserved even to our time." (CCC 69)
St. Tertullian (c. 160-220 AD)
On Modesty (Book I, Chapter 29) Tertullian defends the authority of the Bishop of Rome in matters of discipline:
"The Roman Church has ever been free from error; and if it were not so, it could not be called the Mother of Churches; for this name is given only to that which is free from error." (CCC 71)
St. Cyprian of Carthage (c. 200-258 AD)
Letter to Stephen (c. 251 AD) Cyprian argues for the authority of the Bishop of Rome, particularly in matters of discipline and doctrine:
"The Lord says in His Gospel: 'He that heareth you, heareth Me.' The Church is a unity; she is a body bound together by the faith. In her, there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of us all. For this reason, when we wish to communicate with a Church which is not in harmony with us in faith or practice, we ask whether it is in communion with that See from which all truth flows." (CCC 74)
Sure angus I struggle with the contradiction of the bible and church fathers
