On the eve of ANZAC Day, I encourage genuine holders to reflect on the AVZ experience & how, on a much lighter scale, our battle echoes the courage, resilience & mateship born on the shores of Gallipoli in 1915.
The ANZAC story reflects the sacrifices made in the face of overwhelming odds.
Beyond the battlefield, the ANZAC spirit has come to embody a national identity steeped in unity, perseverance & service.
Each year on April 25 the ANZAC memory is honoured, reminding new generations & new Australians alike of the cost of freedom and the strength that can be found in standing together.
To my fellow Aussie & NZ holders, embrace ANZAC Day & all it stands for & against. The AVZ enemy we meet here each day is cunning & cruel, but the ANZAC lesson will soon be visited upon them.
