Nugett and all,
Well for a change your understanding is as good as mine I made no mention of a timeline, perhaps the Chinese government have been suggesting their people buy Gold for as long as your mate Skol has been warning against it.
We are no longer quite sure about when Skol suggested staying away from Gold as he often quotes dates ranging from 1,900 to 2,000 / 2025. All I know for certain is I am pleased I have been ignoring his financial advice for at least the last two decades.
His year range is as bad as his many failed Gold price predictions $600.00 $900.00 $1,000.00 ???
My post had three links to items that may be of interest to the grownups on these threads, may I ask the purpose of your post or are you just naturally inane?
Nugett, Please stop reading this post at this point as the rest is once again for the grownups.
It is my considered opinion that the true amount of Gold held by the Chinese government, Chinese Central bank, Chinese insurance companies and Chinese citizens is largely unknown.
As the largest miner of Gold little if any of this Gold leaves China, at least not legally. They have reported some buying of Gold in the open market and they certainly have the money from their trade surplus (one of the few countries in surplus rather than deficit.) They seem to be orderly selling USA treasury notes and could be buying Gold with this cash. Smart move in my opinion.
I am sure that one day whenever it suits China to do so it will announce their true numbers for their Gold holdings.
For now, we have little to go on as the Central Bank statistics need to be read with the same amount of skepticism as any other government generated numbers, that is with salt.
Surprised to see Poland up there as a big buyer of Gold (if true) 21 T Dziekuje. (Thankyou.)
Singapore a seller I thought they were a lot smarter than that but can understand Finland. I once received a gift of Finish vodka, undiluted I can only guess what it may do to ones brain cells! See I told you earlier this section was precluded for you and probably Skol for obvious reasons.
Cheers.
