Is it new shares, or performance rights, which have recently been issued? I'm not entirely sure it's the former.
At the last AGM, shareholders voted for up to 229m performance rights to be issued, enitrely at the Boards discretion and on terms not fully set out, to retain and reward staff and management, but dependent upon the performance of VAU - as benchmarked against about a dozen other mid-tier Aussie goldminers.
If my understanding of the position is correct, it's already been approved by shareholders so there's probably not much which could be done at the next AGM - other than protest from the floor.
