Focus on Eastern DRC:

The DRC has proposed giving the US access to its critical mineral reserves (like cobalt, copper, lithium, tin, and tantalum) in exchange for military aid and support to combat the M23 rebels.

The deal is particularly focused on the eastern part of the DRC, which is heavily affected by the conflict and where many valuable minerals are located.
