Nothing happens in the Phoenix courtroom of Judge Humetewa on Thursday, May 8. Nothing happens there on Friday, May 9, either, except she might be reading the status report from BLM and the Hualapai that must be submitted by that date. As her order of March 4 stated, "The parties shall file a status report regarding appropriate next steps in this case by no later than May 9, 2025." Wishful thinking won't get you back the money you have lost, but at least stop fantasizing about what is happening in the lawsuit where AZL is no longer even a party (and where the only witness sent by NTEC was its Armenian-American project manager from Iowa, Ivan Martirisov).
Since Trump still hasn't named a BLM director since the last one backed out last month, and the Senate confirmation process will take several months, I won't be surprised if all that happens by May 9 is that the parties agree to extend the deadline. The disadvantage to the Hualapai is that BLM, as losing party, will have to pay their attorney fees, and Earthjustice eventually will grow tired of waiting.
