The reason the market sees them the same is because so much of LNG is priced off a slope to oil, until they get their own indices and pricing mechanisms they’ll continue to correlate for stocks, they shouldn’t be, as LNG really is a different use case, but hard to change a market mechanism.
That said BHP was able to do it with Iron Ore, but it would take one of the majors to do it, STO and WDS won’t’ be able to change that
