FYI the last vessel to berth at the Beauport bulk facility was bulk carrier (cape) VILLARS.
I am not saying it will happen but it has the carrying capacity (179,709 DWT) to carry the entire amount of spod available to be shipped in one go.
The only way I could see that happening would be if the customer buying it wanted a stockpile for a nation’s strategic reserve.
The subject of government supported strategic reserves of critical minerals have been discussed on this forum before.
If SYAQ and other Western producers did allocate large amounts of spod for this purpose, Chinese refineries would be pressured to get enough supply to meet demand.
If this is on the cards, it is entirely possible that none of the spod from NAL will go to China.
I am thinking SYAQ is best able to do this because it has no off take agreements with Chinese refiners.
