Interesting that, considering the author's background, he wasn't able to point to a reason for the sudden rise in backlog.
I know we are obsessed with anticoagulants, but I wonder whether it could relate to the fallout from the heparin crisis from 2008/2009. The ODG are likely to be a lot more sensitive to the possibility of contamination slipping through.
