change takes time - more often than not - a LOT more time than we'd like

but, there are some signs of progress ---

*there's a bit of funding for shelters appearing

*there's some airing of extensive research which shows that emotional abuse precedes physical violence in a large amount of cases

* there's a large and growing movement to singledom - no domestic violence when single

things are changing
