Maybe we used to live in a benign society - just look at what is becoming of our beloved Europe in such a relatively short period of time.

We now live in a society that is leveraged towards the benefit of corporatism with the feint illusion that our democratic vote has any bearing on outcomes whatsoever. The last election is certainly testament to this.

We live in a society where bankers control our money and welfare and pull the political strings.

We live in a society where pharmaceutical companies control our health (or lack of it)
and this is what that looks like.

There are so many so-called 'experts' out there profiting from the sick and desperate.

The only ''experts'' that profit from the sick and desperate is Big Farma.
They create the sick through unnecessary vaccines and then keep them sick with their medications
and we call them ''heroes''!

@mogga Thankyou for your post. When and where I grew up, there was no extra food, the was no money for lollies, I had to save my fare to my weekly piano lessons to go and get my precious 'Krachmandln' or fruit lollies, anything chocolatey was out of our range; - together with my childhood friend we would scour the lolly-shop window and make our selection, to then shyly walk in, clutching our small fortune and get our fix. Not often, as you can imagine. Cakes only happened for birthdays and several 'high' church days (Easter, Christmas), sweets were mostly in the form of cooked fruit, sometimes things like potato dough filled with plum jam (dusted with ground and sweetened poppy seeds), or dumplings filled with fruit (my favourite was the oblong European plum, and apricots dumpling). As kids we used to collect stones from apricots and then break them open with a brick - only to find out years later, that they are poisonous . . . . (Why can't we get the European (actually Yugoslav!) plum in Australia? But then stone fruit as sold in the super market is despicable, always hard, never ripe, never sweet, always picked too early to survive 'shelf life'.)

Life was simpler, no long session sitting in front of the idiot box, or computer etc.

We are paying a price for the lives of leisure and luxury we allow our kids to live, above all THEY will pay a price.

I am not cut out to do battle with Big Pharma - they'll get rich no matter what I do - and when in need, I do need their products - as I recently found out.
Maybe there is too much rubbish available over the counter - I only found out after years of using a painkiller for my back (so that I could continue the sometimes hard work around here, like gardening), that it was bad for my kidneys - I just found out in time.

It is important to be informed, that's for sure. - but also important not to get paranoid.
