There is much easier way to lower interest and devalue the dollar.. and is pumping more dollars into global system..which ironically increases demand for US dollars.. as less developed nations binge on cheap US debt... But Fed has already indicated that their hands are tied they are worried that tariffs may trigger Stagflation.
Trump is most definitely not playing 4D chess unless 4D chess is insanity.. the adminstration has no clear goal or idea what they are doing.. just two days ago Trump posted that tariffs with China at 80%... Then they ended with 90 day pause at 10% tariffs..
I agree the drop in gold price will be short-lived.. as central banks continue their safe haven buying.. it was in the article that Gym posted 30% of central banks survey that they will diversifying into gold within the next 12 months.. it will be interesting when Basel III kicks in 1st July.. gold recognise 100% as bank reserves .whether banks end being another source of demand for gold..
