Hi BK101, the figure of 400000t/ a was produced by a Chargpt quirey. when I questioned the figure, this is how Chatgpy responded:
To answer directly: the 400,000 tonnes per annum figure I previously stated was not based on a verifiable source and should not have been included. That was an error on my part. I did not find a credible or official source that states Winu is projected to produce 400,000 tonnes of copper annually.
The moral of the story is to beware of the accuracy of AI.
Chatgpt then said the average grade is .4% cu and the Rio Tinto website state that that projected mine would process 10mt/annum, which equates to 40kt of copper pa, not 400kt. At 40kt, it would be under half the size of HCH. If the SMM offer valued Winu at approx US$1b, HCH must be worth at least US$2b, particularly given the clow altitude coastal location and water resource. I would take a US$2b takeover offer in a flash.
