I am not cut out to do battle with Big Pharma..... It is important to be informed, that's for sure.

Hard to actually fight any big corporation per se. Perhaps one way is to seek alternatives - there still are those. Not sure about being informed - so many doctors are now just 'salespeople' - take this, take that, don't worry, if it doesn't work, come back for other try outs.

A little while back whilst querying my gp the gp was more interested in seeing me to the door then answering questions about a condition and re the potential side effects of the drugs prescribed. The idea of a caring family doctor seems to have vaned - replaced by the idea of maximizing the number of patients being seen in an hour - the more patients squeezed in, the more the salary. Your health is very important - but it seems, only to you and perhaps to the pharmacy dispensing prescription drugs. Take these, bye bye.

Why can't we get the European (actually Yugoslav!) plum in Australia? But then stone fruit as sold in the super market is despicable, always hard, never ripe, never sweet, always picked too early to survive 'shelf life

You forgot to add, very expensive.

Consider myself lucky as in my neck of the woods (or nearby), there are some wild things available for those seeking such (perhaps even a few wild women too). what.png Wild plums - differing types at different times - amongst other things - great taste, goes well with filling those dumplings and then coating with cinnamon sugar. Citrus season not far off either - picked a few mandarines and limes yesterday - nice and juicy - juice went well on palacsinta this morning. Have even dried the skin for later use - a better bitter pill for health. smile.png
