I too thought there would be a furore here on HC but it does seem very muted.
These are the facts.
None of you know what he did or didn't do. No matter how much sh!t you talk, you just don't have any facts just vile opinions.
No one has the opportunity to find out anything because there was no trial.
He has been imprisoned for years with no charges being laid. I'll bet that if he was a Christain being held by Arabs for over 3 years without a trial they'd be screaming to high heaven.
Those like Towie who have the man as guilty of something (although they never are clear what he is guilty of) are just plain stupid. There is no other word for such a person.
These are the same people who would have wanted Lindy Chamberlain executed.
There will always be people who want to short circuit the legal system and there will always be the morons who support it simply because they can't think clearly or they're bigoted or just plain despicable.
It is very dangerous for everything we hold dear if we become as bad as the enemies of our beautiful way of life.
If we forget why our lives are so good and give our support to people who would compromise our freedoms then we will eventually say goodbye to what makes it all so good.
Every man and woman deserves a fair trial. Just a few days ago Blair had to apologise to a man who lost 15 years of his life, whose father died in prison. This man and his father were the vistims of "anti-terrorism" laws.
If you don't respect our system of law (and I'm talking to Howard and Bush) then history will show you for the flawed leader you were. It will show how weak you were.
