with your knowledge @dgoynich how would they get fuel to the site ? Thinking Fuel in in 40 foot containers , that are left on site , as putting in large tanks would mean the fuel would freeze over the 9 months when the North west passage is frozen unless heated constantly ?
Would need alot of fuel stored to guessing for every one tonne of say 90% Cu grade concentrate would need about 1000 litres of fuel used and it needs to be stored on site
(assume 18 BWI and 0.25 litres diesel per kwh so 18*0.25) = 4.5 litres per tonne ore processed
say 1.25% ore that ships out at 90% con . 90/1'25 =72 . 4.5 *72 = 324 liters just for grinding to get one tonne of 90% concentrate
need to add ancillaries , mobile machinery for m, ining accommodation heating and guessing it would be close to 1 tonne of fuel needed for every 1 tonne of concentrate being shipped out . So a method of shipping ore out on the same ship that brings back fuel would be ideal
