Yup, most people don't really get how devastating long term systemic immunosuppression can be.
Not just the infections, but hypertension, tremor, diabetes, weight gain, kidney issues (all depends on the agents used but none of them are nice to take).
And if there is rejection you often need stress dosed steroids which is a whole other thing.
Topical immunosuppression would have no where near the side effects. I don't know too much about how that would go - topical steroids vs other agents.
But huge point in favor of PNV
