Australia's unemployment level was unchanged at 4.1% US markets were generally in positive territory overnight.
The DOW rose 271 points (.65%), the NBI rose 87 points (2.23%), the NASDAQ Composite fell 34 points (.18%) and the Russell small cap index rose 10 points (.52%).
