"There was speculation yesterday that the move could be part of a broader play by a foreign resource group -- said to be Chinese -- to buy up a number of Talbot Group investments in Australian mining companies.

It was reported in June last year when he passed away in a tragic plane accident that Mr Talbot's investment empire extended to stakes in at least 20 international companies worth an estimated $1 billion."
