The PTR Mulgathing tenements are located at the centre of an extension of the Eromanga Sea. The extension is about 60km in diameter. It is at the SW edge where there was once a unique marine mineralisation environment. Google Earth can be used with the kmz file below to view a map of the Eromanga Sea.

The kmz contains :
1) all PTR tenements
2) Geophysical maps : Magnetic TMI RTP and 'surficial Bouguer Gravity Anomaly'
3) a map of the Eromanga Sea
4) a map of the local Streams
5) PTR and NYM Drill Holes and Assays (655)
6) PTR Rock Sample Assays (30)
7) "Fly to AOI 1" to display the Mulgathing tenements, and "Fly to AOI 2" to display the upper Spencer Gulf.

The breakup of Gondwana began 150 mya. As Australia was drawn away from Antarctica the Australian continent was stretched. This lead to slumping of landforms in Central Australia and the creation of a shallow waterbody called "the Eromanga Sea". Continental stretching from SW to NE seems to have left long narrow NW-SE traces on the TMI map.

The TMI map also shows flow lines suggesting sediment movement in areas of low TMI (eg. where any Fe is fully oxidised). The Mulgathing TiO2 Rock Samples seem to be located in these areas. The floor of the Eromanga Sea may have contained areas of extremely deep slumping. These areas might be expected to attract the densest particles washed in from distant volcanic activity. In AGE's case this was Uranium minerals (see the Spencer Gulf map), in PTR's case this could be Titanium minerals.
However the deposits will still have low overall density due to their inability to compact in water.

Should magnetic anomalies be PTR's TiO2 targets ?
Why should TiO2 source rocks be close to Mulgathing ?
Why are deep depressions in the ancient sea bed not considered ?
