from the short chart I seen last week it’s seems about 10 percent of the short positions were being made when share price was $40-50 but I will stand corrected if I’m wrong .
basically the chart I seen should about 3-4 percent shorts last year 5 percent short positions in June 2024 then by -September 30 when it hit 13.40 % so all this talk about the shorts getting burned is non sense . Because majority of the positions are held at $50 or more so they have doubled their money if they close their positions today .

although I am really surprised why say 90 % percent of them didn’t cash in at $14 and bring the shorts positions down to 3-4 percent . Did they really think there was more downside than upside to come ?
and yes on the way down obviously a bunch would be closed their positions and a new bunch of them open. New short postitions as the news got worse and worse but still surprising that it’s held such a high percentage or short interest down at the lower levels , wouldn’t commbank be a better bet on its all time highs. I think the shorts positions are not driving the price down it’s just trump , and the commodity prices of iron and lithium . The big boys are watching china closely for stimulus, they are watching world lithium reserve stocks , they are watching aud to usd exchange rates . Class actions , debt , ato investigations , weather events , are all hanging over their heads still and with this much debt and a market of risk off investment hence why gold has shot uo then you can see why the price is subdued . But the good thing is that when we get out of the storm and into clear water with blue skies then the share price will really start to rocket I’m HODLing patiently but it hasn’t been a easy journey.
