"Serious debate? Tens of millions of Americans will be 'impacted' by the Big Beautiful Bill all right... by keeping more of their own money. Middle-class families will see higher standard deductions, working people keep their overtime and tips tax-free, and businesses have more room to hire and grow.
The argument is made the rich benefit? Of course they do—they pay most of the taxes. That’s like whining that a shop owner gets more change back because he handed over a $100 bill while you gave a $10. It’s basic math, not oppression.
And if you’re mad that some entitlements are being trimmed. good. It’s time we reward work instead of dependence - the milk from the teat of the left.
And the argument that the cuts are driven by cuts to welfare is a furphy. The cuts target able-bodied adults who can work but aren’t. The safety net remains in place for those who need it. The goal is to shift from dependence to ush them toward self-sufficiency
