So, why is Elon Musk standing with Massad Boulos in so many pics of meetings with African representatives?

Rather than being lithium (Manono) related as some propose, it may be about his company's push to get Starlink across the line in more African nations. With reference to the DRC in particular; the DRC govt banned Starlink in March 2024 over security concerns, but recently reversed that decision.

The DRC government now sees the potential for Starlink to accelerate digital development, particularly in rural and under-serviced areas. It looks like the DRC government belatedly read the room, noticing Musk's proximity to Boulos and by extension to Trump.

However, here we have Musk pushing a first world service on a third world nation where only 30% of Congolese have internet access, and only 22% have electricity.

It seems like a political decision directly related to the DRC's desperate need for a US backed security agreement, rather than a developmental decision.
