Just on that subject, bulk carrier YELLOWBILL has begun to transit the Panama Canal.

It takes between 8 to 10 hours to pass through the canal.

Once through, the ship should update the route it will take to it”s final destination.

I am quite confident this ship is carrying spod from NAL to China, with an outside chance some may be going to South Korea.

Given that the ship departed the Port of Quebec on 12May, it probably won’t arrive in China (or South Korea) until late in June.

An interesting observation about this trip, was that it spent very little time in the queue before entering the canal.

Previous shipments have taken 3 or 4 days waiting at anchor before being allowed entry.

From what I understand, it is possible to jump the queue by paying surcharge.

Whether it is the supplier or the customer who pays, I am not sure.
