hDifficult to compare gdp from one country to another. Australia excludes many activities from GDP calcs whereas many other countries do not. Eg.
- Illegal Activities excluded in Australia but illicit drug trade and sex are included in places like US and UK
- Unpaid household work excluded in Australia but value of cooking and cleaning childcare in included in some countries
- Volunteer work excluded australia but included in others
- And what about transfer pricing of exported goods and commodities - the tax avoidence we know is happening by major companies.
Maybe Australia is just not capturing everything. Looking around my area (SE Queensland) I don't see recession.
