Look, new product specifications have always been an essential part of my business life. One thing you learn there quickly is that meeting spec callouts in product specifications , i.e. defined physical properties, is one thing. Meeting such specs is always necessary, but never sufficient to guarantee that a product works in the practical use environment of a specific customer, since the latter is something the raw material manufacturer usually cannot simulate. Meaning, it is easy to say for SYR in their quarterly that the product meets spec callouts agreed with their customers. What we NEED to hear is, that one of their potential CUSTOMERS says the product works in their processing facilities, substituting incumbent materials, yielding finished goods with the desired performance features. In other words, meeting both documented and non-documented customer requirements. To put it simply:
The approval needs to come from the customer, not from Syrah.
Any evidence for that having happened would be appreciated, I‘d then happily reconsider my position.
