It's pretty unreal, they had a 16000L oil spill on the same day as the AGM that drifted across two marine parks. Then a week later - approved extension.
I'd expect the sand mine in Jarrahdale to be approved as well. Those project builders who need that cheap sand are some of Labors biggest donors.
I'm not sure if these projects are getting approved because of the corruption at a government level or it's the effects of the changes implemented through the whole EPA and government over the last 12 months.
Maybe after years of people abusing legal loopholes to stop projects because they were 100% anti mining has sent the pendulum swinging waaaay to far in the opposite direction.
A lot of conservationist just got put on "ignore", I'm not sure that's a good thing overall?
