The historical Pollard shaft, located to the south of the Main Pit within the Youanmi underground mine, produced 200,000 ozs of gold @ 15 g/t.
That’s similar to Penny West and Penny Gold (RMS) both world-class discoveries,
The "Pollard Mineralised Envelope" has long been recognised as unexplored at depth and the most likely zone for hosting high-grade ore shoots similar to those found in the known mineralogical envelopes at the Youanmi mine.
On the 17th February this year, as part of the Step Up drilling campaign, Rox reported the following hits at Pollard
RXDD146: 4.94m @ 84.55g/t from 312.7m
RXDD149A: 3.10m @ 16.42g/t from 244.9m
Late March, Rox announced:
RXDD181: 0.94m @ 6.14g/t from 463.3m.
Rox then paused drilling while waiting for lab results.
On April 28, Rox reported that mineralisation continues at depth beneath the Pollard deposit within shear lode structures.
The Pollard results, due in April, have not been released to date, but drilling continues.
That is a very positive indicator that Exploration Manager Andrew Shaw-Stuart (with Hawke’s Point technical assistance) is onto something.
Rox holders will recall an embarrassing episode in 2023 when the former CEO prematurely announced, on the basis of a single spectacular hit, that Rox had found a company making ‘parallel lode’.
The share price leapt to 48 cents but fell to earth just as quickly when Paddy’s Lode was revealed as a marginal prospect.
Rox should not have announced that first drill result, but drilled more holes to firm up the discovery and then made the announcement.
That is exactly what current CEO and MD Phill Wilding would do, and it explains the silence.
If Rox has found an extension to Pollard, it will add significant high-grade gold to the Reserve in the DFS, due in November.
