Howard made some changes to super that wasn't in the initial plan. he enabled the tax avoidance and reduced the CGT rate. did you disagree with those changes? it was due to Howard that people started to use super as a tax avoidance strategy.
the problem has been ignored for over 20 years. do you think govt should never change anything that adversely impacts you? or maybe when a small number of people are misusing a tax subsidy scheme, as superannuation truly is in order to encourage people to contribute more into their RETIREMENT SAVINGS so they don't go on to live a skint life on the pension that the govt cannot afford, shouldn't a govt act to reduce the temptation to abuse a scheme that is intended ONLY as retirement savings?
