...that East-West DC transmission line is the "Game-changer" that will catapult Geothermal as well as Solar. Wind has got a problem now that China has announced that it will stop exporting "rare earth elements"[REE's]to the world market. It controls 97% of world supply. The REE Neodymium is a vital component for Wind Turbines. The GREAT advantage of Geothermal is that, once the holes have been drilled, the set-up to commission steam generated turbines is relatively cheap and the technology has been around for a while [think Iceland and New Zealand for example]. So far the cost of drilling has been a major draw-back.....THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER for "short-term" as well as "long-term".....LEE
