AKD1000 & AKD1500 were limited fabrication runs.
I understand 7,500 AKA1000 were fabricated.
I also understand that they intend to have more fabricated and that they are considering having a mask made which will cost $1.5 to $2.0 million but will drop fabrication cost to about $4.00 per chip.
Again my understanding is that the decision to have a mask made arises from potential customer engagements. Noting that Bascom Hunter for example is a customer that appears to want chips not IP.
